It’s been one long winter. So long, I thought I’d never see grass growing again.
With Easter just a few weeks away, I decided to put together a little project for my son. I wanted something hands-on to banish our winter blues.
The end result: we grew our own Easter grass!
This project was so much fun and simple, simple, simple!
Interested in making your own?
You’ll need: an Easter basket, potting soil, quick grass seed, and a planting dish (make sure it fits inside your Easter basket).
Fill the dish about half way up with potting soil.
Sprinkle grass seed on top. Add a little more dirt and water well!
Put your dish in the sunshine, water every day, and watch it grow!
It took five days for our grass to sprout, then it grew extremely quickly! My son couldn’t wait to wake up every morning and see how much it grew!
It only took eight days to grow a lush dish of grass! It’s so soft and pretty!
The grass looks great in our Easter baskets – it definitely beats the plastic, crinkly stuff!
Why buy plastic Easter grass when you can grow your own? Enjoy!
