I was wrapping our Grandparents’ Day gifts the other day when my son tugged on my shirt and gave me his best “I want to help” look.
Since he just turned two, handing him scissors, tape and delicate paper had disaster written all over it. So I had to think of a quick alternative… I decided to let him create his own wrapping paper for his grandparents!
I found some large sheets of thick, white paper and drew little stick figures of my son and daughter. Then I gave my son crayons and let him go to town! He had so much fun, and being an independent little boy, this was the perfect way for him to contribute!
I drew gift tags on the paper and wrote down our grandparents’ names – they look so colorful and fun! And most importantly, my little guy had a great time and learned a little bit about giving. (Plus, these were extremely low cost. We only used materials we had at home – no buying necessary!)
Once he was done coloring, we wrapped our presents. Now we have a beautiful stack of gifts!
I think they turned out great! I can’t wait for my little ones to give these to their grandparents!
Enjoy!
