Baseball means a lot to my husband and I. So to accomodate our tastes we decided to have our rehearsal dinner at Modern Woodmen Park (a local minor league ballpark – rated the eighth most classic and beautiful ballpark in America! If you’re ever in the Quad Cities be sure to check it out!). We wanted a baseball theme for our dinner, but we didn’t want to be too in-your-face about it. So we decided to add a few subtle baseball touches… The first thing we did was put peanuts at every place setting. It was very easy (and inexpensive!). We bought cellophane, added peanuts, and tied with curling ribbon. Quick and easy! Then we created a baseball ticket seating card for each person attending. We included our wedding date, the person’s name, the table they were assigned to, and a picture of us with them. (I created the tickets in Photoshop and had them printed onto heavy cardstock at Kinkos. They cost less than $0.15 per ticket.) The last thing we added was our centerpieces. I bought silk flowers from Hobby Lobby (with a 50% off coupon), purchased some inexpensive glass jars (they were $2.50 at Hobby Lobby) and some floral beads. Then I added photos of Greg and I playing baseball / softball. It added a splash of color and was personal… I really love how they turned out! And viola! Our dinner had an inexpensive baseball-theme without being over the top. (And just to make sure we had a small touch of baseball on our wedding day, we also purchased personalized baseball bats for our groomsmen and ushers…) From our family to yours: Happy planning everyone! (Thanks to Creative Wedding Package for the beautiful photos!)
Let's connect and do great things!
